We believe caring about people as if they were family and serving them with excellence and high standards of quality are vital. Since 1981, this has been the mission of Thorpe Heating & Cooling. For 40 years, we have maintained this same code of ethics while faithfully serving the heating and cooling needs of Polk County.
You may wonder how we got our start… After serving his country in the US Air Force from 1972-1978, Chuck Thorpe worked for local heating and cooling companies. In 1980, he felt led to open his own heating and cooling business. Chuck believed that he could make a difference in people’s lives by serving clients just like they were family. Chuck started with a desk and a phone book in his grandmother’s garage while his wife, Robin, worked for GTE. As the business began to grow, it was apparent that Robin would join Chuck in the endeavor. And so the adventure continued. It wasn’t too many years later that their son, Josh, would join the company – and from the ground up work his way to becoming the General Manager of the company.

Along with keeping our clients comfortable, Thorpe Heating and Cooling has been an active part of the Lakeland community and Polk County since its inception. Since the Thorpe family has always lived in Lakeland, we believe we have a responsibility to give back to Lakeland and the surrounding communities that have blessed us over the years.
Thorpe Heating and Cooling is an active member of the Lakeland Chamber of Commerce, “BNI” Business Network International, “ABWA” American Business Women’s Association and “CWE” Christian Worldwide Evangelism. Thorpe sponsors local youth athletics, performing arts, community events, local and international missions, charity fund-raisers and food donation drives.
