Call Thorpe with confidence
I was looking for a company to do regular maintenance and of several recommended to check out, I chose Thorpe. At the time when I was trying to find a company, I asked each company what they do for their yearly system checks. One company wouldn’t return calls and another company didn’t seem to do as thorough a job as Thorpe. Needless to say, I chose Thorpe and glad I did. They do a great job, treat you like they’ve known you for years (that’s everyone you talk to there), are conscientious, straight-up (i.e. they don’t try to sell you something you don’t need) and do their work efficiently. If you want a company where the work ethic I’ve experienced has been superb, give Thorpe a call.
Great Job Robby
Robby, arrived on time with a upbeat attitude and a smile. I explained to him that another company had replaced my a/c unit in March of this year. During the first cold snap a few weeks ago when i turned on the heat, there was no heat. I called the company that replaced the unit to find the problem. When they arrived the next day the tech was here for approximately 2 1/2 hours but could not find the problem. The next day a tech supervisor arrived to look at the system. After 2 hours plus he stated it was the thermostat wire, but he was able to use other wires in the bundle instead and that the unit was now heating properly. NOT SO, this week when i turned on the heat IT WOULD NOT SHUT OFF. Robby went to work and found the thermostat was wired WRONG.
He fix it, re-programmed the thermostat, answered all my questions and was gone within an hour. It would appear that the units thermostat was not wired or programmed properly when installed or when they attempted to fix it, In addition the thermostat was not programmed properly when installed, or function tested. I recently had a new air conditioning system installed by Thorpe and the experience was awesome. They gave me assistance with getting my rebates, the installation of the new system is great and it is quieter and more efficient than my last system. Our new unit left me with some questions and some minor noises that needed explaining and Robby was dispatched to the house to take a look. Robby arrived on time, first plus. He listened to my concerns and immediately knew what was going on with the system and in a few minutes had everything explained and taken care of. Great service tech and a great service call. Mr. Thorpe you should give Robby a raise, he goes beyond the usual quick trip service tech and is very polite and knowledgeable. I really appreciated his overall professionalism and will refer my friends to Thorpe the next chance I get.

Nelson set the stage with the system review and options. We chose an air filtration option.
Jack and Rick arrived on schedule for the installation.and soon discovered that the filtration option would not fit with the horizontal orientation of the air handler. We made a collective decision to rearrange the system to vertical. The Thorpe team recognized that I could build a platform and the air handler was converted to vertical with the filtration option. Jack and Rick took on the modified task like the professionals they are. Additional supplies were delivered from Thorpe as the job progressed. New ducts were created and the system was up and running by dinner time.
Thorpe Heating and AC is my choice for on-going service from now on. Also, I will recommend Thorpe to anyone who asks about an exceptional AC provider.

I recently purchased a condo in the Lake Wales FL area and needed to up-date the air conditioning and heating system. I worked with Chris Chambers, who inspected the unit and made a recommendation that fit my budget while offering a great efficient system. I would recommend this company without hesitation.
30+ years of service
I’ve been a customer of Thorpe H/AC for over 30 years. THAC has installed 7 AC units in my homes and office building in Lakeland over those years. Numerous service calls have been completed on time with efficiency.
I just want to brag on Chris Chambers. He came by last week after Jerry (service tech) responded to our need for service to our home AC (THANKS JERRY!) Jerry informed me that our 12 year old Thorpe HVAC system was dying.
After Chris explained my options and we settled on the replacement system, he told me to call him if our temporary fix failed before the fellows were able to complete the replacement. Unfortunately, four days later it began to warm up in the house. I took Chris at his word and sent him a text about 8pm last night asking if he could send someone by. He immediately responded that he would. To my pleasant surprise someone was at my front gate before 8am this morning. To my greater surprise it was Chris! Within 15 minutes he had the system cooling again to get us to Friday, the replacement date.

We place our complete trust in Thorpe AC. We have been Thorpe customers for well over 10 years and in two different homes. The relationship we have with people at Thorpe is not merely a company/client relationship. They are more like trusted advisers. Thorpe pulled us out of a terrible situation. We had weekend, emergency AC issues a couple of summers ago, and a friend recommended another AC company. We reluctantly went with the other company. The other company incorrectly installed a new air conditioner, resulting in the flooding of several rooms in the house multiple times. After not getting anywhere with the other company, we called Thorpe and had them reinstall it. It has worked perfectly ever since. It’s not just a job for Thorpe; it is a relationship with members of the community. They only sell what they have fully vetted and would use in their own homes. We’ll never use anyone else.

I generally obtain bids from other companies before making a major purchase. Due to the confidence level I have in Thorpe, I feel it is not necessary to go through that exercise. Deep knowledge of their craft
I need to let you know that the three service personnel who installed a new complete AC unit in our daughter’s new residence were courteous, professional and deeply knowledgeable of their craft. Putting the unit into the attic was more than anticipated, but they stuck with it until it was completed. Your maintenance team has been doing our own house and business office going on two years. I cannot say enough about those personnel. And kudos for the staff handling the service and installation departments. They are friendly and courteous also. After two nights without air conditioning and a negative experience with a different air conditioning company, I know now how it feels to be part of the Thorpe family, and what it means to have great customer service. Joy answered my call in a friendly helpful way, connecting me with Michael in Operations. Michael was very professional, and he was able to get us on the schedule and reassured me that he would take care of our air conditioning problem. As promised, Jack and another Michael arrived on time and quickly diagnosed the problem. Jack explained and showed me where the problem was and how it could be fixed. Thorpe gave us a wonderful experience and even called later the same day to make sure we were happy with our service.
